Primary Playground Project
PreK-3 Playground
The plan for the area on the north side of the gym calls for a completely new playground with a soft turf or pour-in-place rubber surface and several play/activity areas suitable for PreK through 3rd grade students – climbing structures, swings, games, and imaginative play.
4-6 Sport/Game Court
On the south side of the gym, we will build a hard surface area for our 4th-6th grade students that will include a basketball goal, a GaGa Ball pit, 4-Square, and open play space for activites such as jump rope, hopscotch, and sidewalk chalk art.
Enclosed Activity Field
Our final phase will include re-sodding and enclosing the grass area behind the gym to create a well-maintained green space and activity field for our Primary School students to safely enjoy.
Estimated Cost: $150,000
The estimated cost to complete all phases of this project is approximately $150,000. We are praying that the CCS community will plan and generously contribute to this project so our Primary School students can enjoy these new play areas in the 2024-25 school year.
To help the CCS administration effectively plan for funding and completion of the phases described below, we are asking our school families to consider completing a “Contribution Plan Form.” Some people will make a one-time contribution, while others might prefer to contribute over time. Completing this form will provide greater clarity regarding the timing and planned contribution amounts we can reasonably expect as we work through each phase.
Site Prep: $5,000
Site prep for the PreK-3 and 4-6 areas will include black mulch removal, site grading, and drainage. We will complete this work in June of 2024.

Sport/Game Court: $33,500
Since the site prep contractor will also pour the concrete for the 4-6 Sport/Activity Court, we hope to complete this portion of the project in June of 2024. We also hope to install the basketball goal and procure the GaGa Ball Pit if funds are available.

PreK-3 Playground Surface: $48,000
We will install either a cushioned turf or pour-in-place rubber surface in the PreK-3 Playground area. This portion of the project will begin when sufficient contributions and contribution plans have been received.

PreK-3 Playground Equipment: $55,000
The playground equipment needs to be procured and installed before the new surface goes in. We will order the equipment when sufficient contributions and contribution plans are received.

Enclosed Activity Field: $8,500
The final phase of the project will include grading, re-sodding, and fencing the grass area behind the gym to create a safe, well-maintained green space for the students.
